Account Director – Brand & Public Sector

Salary:  £50,000 p.a. +  commission (OTE c£68,000 p.a. uncapped)

Our client is a global media agency that is looking for an Account Director to grow and maintain revenue and product streams from your key existing clients by building an awareness of the expanding services of the company through senior level relationships and appropriate consultative sales activities.

This a great opportunity for an experienced Account Director with a PR, Media or Analysis company background  to join a leader in their industry with a strategy built around accelerated growth. In addition, there is real potential to establish a long-standing career and be promoted to more senior roles within the Customer Success division as well as across the wider Group. As an Account Director you will report to the Commercial Director.  You will have significant key account and enterprise sales experience, with a track record of achieving excellent results in a highly competitive business to business environment. An understanding of reputation intelligence services and related sectors would be considered a significant advantage.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop your own key account base and meet/exceed target
  • Conduct regular meetings to develop the client relationship and identify new opportunities to support their ongoing strategies
  • To ascertain changing requirements with existing services and to communicate these back into the business
  • To be the point person throughout any form of retention/competitive re-pitch or review and deliver a comprehensive response on time
  • To provide client feedback to the product development team on new requirements and enhancements for consideration

Key Objectives:

  • Consistently achieve revenue targets – retention and growth
  • Build, implement, and maintain an effective personal account business development plan
  • Monitor and analyse ongoing client revenues and development against this plan
  • Ensure you are proactively identifying and developing new requirements and opportunities across each client within the client base
  • Ensure you are proactively identifying opportunities to sell into related stakeholders and organisations such as subsidiaries, divisions, sub-brands, parent groups, partners and suppliers
  • Ensure the accurate recording of client interactions, opportunities, pipeline and sales documents within our CRM (Salesforce)
  • Report accurately on attainment against targets
  • Maintain an awareness of key news and events relevant to specific clients and around which to target discussions
  • Within your industry sector build an awareness of key news and events around which to target discussions
  • Maintain a sensitivity to client satisfaction levels, liaising with the account management team and other departments as appropriate
  • Deliver expert advice and guidance both internally and externally
  • Become an integral member of the team both as an example to others as well as a key contributor to the success and development of the team


  • 5 years B2B key account and enterprise sales experience
  • Experience selling into C-suite executives, across multiple stakeholders, divisions and the broader organisational network within a company
  • Experience with global accounts
  • Previous record of working with and growing multiple accounts spending  +£100k accounts
  • Experience in account plan compilation and management
  • Good track record of client retention – revenue and volume
  • Successful new business and enterprise account development skills
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully responding to and winning RFP’s and tenders
  • Successful pipeline management and achievement against revenue targets and other KPI’s
  • Success in identifying, nurturing and converting opportunities within existing accounts in order to grow and further cement our position within that client
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to form good relations both internally and externally with clients
  • Enterprise account growth experience
  • Ability to lead projects
  • Experience of managing a successful team within client management

Salary: £50K basic, £65K on target earnings uncapped
