Digital Marketing Manager – 9 month Maternity Cover contract

Start: 7th Sep 2020.  Finish 7th June 2021 (initial 3 week handover)

Our client is a successful global industrial supplier with an amazing reputation that has been profitable throughout the pandemic.   They are looking for a Digital Marketing Manager with strong knowledge of running email campaigns, SEO and producing engaging content.  The role will be located in London’s Canary Wharf and the candidates must be able to commit to the full 9 months of the contract.

You will be key to creating and implementing the Content, PR, SEO, Social Media and Email Marketing strategies for the company over the next few months and will play a key role in driving both direct and indirect revenue through the digital channel.  Both Social Media and PR will be handled via an outside agency but you will still be key in managing and the creativity of these projects.

You must have at least 3 years experience within a similar role and ideally within a similar industry, and have had a key focus on email marketing. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to develop their own strategy and further their career within Email, Content and Social Media. 

The successful candidate will join a team of experienced and ambitious digital professionals and you will be supported throughout your contract to achieve the goals required.  Your day to day duties will include:-


  • Refine and deliver email marketing strategies.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies and campaigns.
  • Manage day to day email output and reviewing of campaigns.
  • Maintain smooth delivery and improve strategy on campaigns.
  • Setting and delivering Email marketing KPIs.

Content Management

  • Create landing pages; upload new content using the company’s inhouse CMS.
  • Develop the company’s knowledge Hub
  • Edit and maintain content on the homepage and information pages on the website.

PR & Social Media

  • Manage and liaise with the company’s PR agency, including involvement in bi-weekly campaign progress meetings.
  • Update and coordinate PR efforts and social media calendars.
  • Monitor success of campaigns and social following.
  • Build and manage the company’s Social Media profiles (Facebook,Twitter and LinkedIn).
  • Collaborate with prominent members of the company to identify opportunities and create appropriate, shareable and newsworthy articles.
  • Monitor content production and engagement with users on all Social Media platforms.
  • Monitor competitor’s Social and PR activity.


  • Provide assistance in the management of SEM, including creating keywords, writing and editing copy.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Degree educated.
  • At least 3 years experience within a similar role with a focus on Business to Business email marketing.
  • Experience within a similar industry.
  • Good knowledge of Emarsys marketing automation platform or similar.
  • Experience with managing external agencies.
  • Basic experience of HTML (specifically around email marketing).
  • Sound knowledge of Social Media marketing.
  • Good understanding of web analytics software, specifically Google Analytics.
  • Commercial acumen- must be able to measure, report and optimise on campaign parameters.
  • A passion for everything email and content related.

Salary: £100 per day
