Senior Account Director

SENIOR ACCOUNT DIRECTOR – Central London

£80,000 p.a. + commission (OTE c£110,000 p.a. uncapped)

Our client is a global media agency that is looking for a Senior Account Director to focus on their enterprise level financial clients, experience managing clients within the financial industry is essential.

You will be working with some of the company’s most important clients and will be responsible for creating client strategies, account growth plans and developing innovative senior level client relationships through a consultative sales approach.

As a Senior Account Director you will have significant key account and enterprise sales experience within the financial sector, with a track record of achieving excellent results in a highly competitive business to business environment.

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing retention and growth of key client relationships and potential major client opportunities within the financial sector
  • Be the key client lead on a number of major strategic clients within the financial sector
  • Oversee and lead on strategic new opportunities within your account base
  • Demonstrating clarity of purpose, excellence in client planning and management, and effective thought leadership and innovation
  • Work closely with the centralised commercial team to develop cross client relationships
  • Take the lead and set best in class practices for managing and developing client relationships
  • Conduct regular meetings to develop the client relationship and identify new opportunities to support their ongoing strategies
  • Ascertain changing requirements with existing services and to communicate these back into the business
  • Be the point person throughout any form of retention/competitive re-pitch or review and deliver a comprehensive response on time
  • Provide client feedback to the product development team on new requirements and enhancements for consideration

Key objectives:

  • Consistently achieve revenue targets – retention and growth
  • Build, implement, and maintain an effective personal account business development plan
  • Monitor and analyse ongoing client revenues and development against this plan
  • Identify and develop new requirements and opportunities across each client within the client base
  • Identify opportunities to sell into related stakeholders and organisations such as subsidiaries, divisions, sub-brands, parent groups, partners and suppliers
  • Accurately record client interactions, opportunities, pipeline and sales documents within the CRM (Salesforce)
  • Report accurately on attainment against targets
  • Maintain an awareness of key news and events relevant to specific clients and around which to target discussions
  • Within your industry sector build an awareness of key news and events around which to target discussions
  • Maintain a sensitivity to client satisfaction levels, liaising with the account management team and other departments as appropriate
  • Deliver expert advice and guidance both internally and externally
  • Become an integral member of the team both as an example to others as well as a key contributor to the success and development of the team

Requirements

  • 7 years + similar experience in a senior business to business, key account and enterprise sales role
  • Strong track record of successfully developing relationships and selling into c-suite executives, across multiple stakeholders, divisions and the broader organisational network within a company
  • Experience of working with global accounts
  • Strong track record for working with and growing multiple accounts spending +£100k accounts
  • Strong background and experience in account plan compilation and management
  • Strong track record for high level of retention and growth of enterprise accounts – revenue and volume
  • Strong track record of new business and enterprise account development
  • Experience of successfully responding to and winning RFP’s and tenders
  • Success in pipeline management and achievement against revenue targets and other KPI’s
  • Success in identifying, nurturing and converting opportunities within existing accounts in order to grow and further cement our position within that client
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Considerable interpersonal communication skills and the ability to form good relations both internally and externally with clients

Salary: £80,000 basic - £110,000 on target earnings - uncapped
