SEO & CONTENT MANAGER – 1 year Fixed Term Contract

Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire

Salary:  £50,000 p.a. + superb benefits.

SEO & Content Manager required for highly successful eCommerce company based in Borehamwood.  You will be responsible for driving best in class SEO both onsite and offsite to help us improve our organic traffic, SERP visibility and conversion rates across the business. This role covers the SEO content elements such as conducting keyword research, onsite optimisations and identifying emerging trends to create longer-form content around, which is also PR-worthy to drive relevant backlinks to site. You will also need to demonstrate a strong technical SEO understanding to be able to analyse and prioritise technical audits and brief into our product team, showing business value in each initiative proposed. The person we are looking for will be comfortable in getting stuck into all sides of SEO, whilst also being adaptive to taking on more reactive projects to support wider business initiatives as they arise.

You will report into our Customer Acquisition Director and have one Senior SEO & Content Executive reporting into you. We have a partnered SEO agency to support this role, whilst also an in-house content, design, trade and product team to action onsite recommendations, who you’ll work closely with.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be able to continue to drive forward and communicate the SEO strategy for each brand across the business.
  • Support the Senior SEO & Content Executive’s ongoing career development goals, with weekly 1-2-1s, quarterly reviews and ongoing support where required.
  • Communicate effectively with our partnered SEO agency to understand priorities, monthly actions, and roadmap initiatives.
  • Confidently analyse onsite and technical areas of the sites to uncover further optimisations.
  • Work efficiently with our trade team to align SEO strategy to trade priorities throughout the year.
  • Be the point of contact within the business for all SEO support and advice.
  • Strong SEO content experience, leading the creation of content that delivers SEO objectives; whilst maintaining clear brand and editorial direction, aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Report on monthly and end of year performance, keeping a track of onsite changes, performance, and effectiveness, aligned with channel KPIs.
  • In-depth technical SEO understanding to confidently liaise with our product team on key IT tickets.
  • Keep abreast of industry and algorithmic changes to proactively make recommendations for updates to improve site performance and rankings.
  • Provide the business with seasonal insights in search behaviour to ensure our sites are well prepared ahead of peak periods and equipped with relevant messaging throughout the year aligned with search demands.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure strong and prompt delivery of SEO strategic plans.
  • Work with the Web Trading team to create solutions for new site initiatives/developments that are SEO friendly as well as drive commercial performance (SERP rankings).
  • Work closely with our Head of Trade and PR Manager to develop and implement onsite content and SEO campaigns in line with the company’s objectives and communication plans.

Requirements:

  • You will have 5+ years’ experience managing SEO (including ecommerce experience) as an SEO & Content Manager (agency or client side).
  • You will have a proven track record of driving growth in SEO – both through content and technical aspects.
  • Creative thinker with a track record in defining and delivering original content for ecommerce businesses.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • You’ll have advanced knowledge of Excel and analytics tools including Google Analytics, Google Search Console and ideally Adobe Analytics.
  • You will be confident in using SEO tools such as Screaming Frog and ideally Ahrefs.
  • You are a decision maker who is not afraid to challenge others to champion SEO best practice.
  • A great customer-focussed approach and tone-of-voice is essential, as well as someone who can communicate confidently and share their ideas across the whole marketing team.
  • You will be able to communicate well with others and work collaboratively across departments to ensure the strategy is driven forward.
  • You’ll naturally be interested in all things digital, so you’ll always be up to date on current trends and thinking.
  • Able to communicate in a clear manner, being decisive and proactive.
  • This role will suit a creative person with technical and analytical mind with a passion for all things digital.
