Hybrid – Must be able to attend the London office, ideally once a week.

Salary: £85,000 p.a.

Global Research and Publications Company requires Corporate Counsel with experience of compliance investigations and that has worked in a top UK law firm (even as an Intern).

Your main focus for this role will be to support internal compliance investigations with fact gathering and contributing to written reports but you will also be involved in commercial transactions, collaborating with the team to delivery impactful legal support. The team consists of lawyers in various disciplines, paralegals, and specialists in data privacy and artificial intelligence. You will work with the company’s compliance and litigation attorneys to support compliance investigations, supporting one of the company’s sales segments with customer negotiations and transactions. Daily duties will include:

Compliance

  • Assisting with compliance investigations, including evidence collection and analysis, witness interviews, and report preparation.
  • Providing advice, interpretation, development, roll out and implementation of compliance policies.
  • Advising legal colleagues on compliance-related issues in commercial transactions

Commercial

  • Providing support to our Sales group for transactional matters, including legal advice, contract negotiation and drafting of contracts.
  • Participating in the development of tools and information to help clients be more efficient and independent in using contract templates.
  • Providing best in practice professional legal services to the organization to ensure delivery of impactful results.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years PQE experience
  • Experience in commercial compliance, commercial litigation, intellectual property and compliance investigations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior transactional contracting experience a plus.
  • Effectively and efficiently prioritize and execute tasks and demonstrate flexibility in a complex and constantly changing environment.
  • Be a collaborative team player with a willingness to deliver successful solutions to interesting problems.
  • Knowledge of basic copyright concepts a plus.
  • Be client and partnership-focused and able to build and maintain relationships by being approachable and flexible.
