Data Analyst/Data Engineer, London EC2

£40,000 p.a.

Global company established for over 50 years, with an annual turnover of £8.5 billion is looking for a Data Insight Analyst to join their team in the London office, based near Moorgate station, working for a new subsidiary of the group involved in developing a related digital platform.  Although this is an incredibly established business you will be working within a start up culture but, with the backing of an established global organisation, this business will grow fast.  

Analytics is at the core of the company’s success and the successful candidate will work on a wide variety of challenges, from product-pricing to supplier-analysis, analysing the cost of acquisition or lifetime value, building and maintaining pipelines or finding insight into our customer retention rate – this role guides data-driven decision making throughout the organisation.


This role will identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency, DB architecture improvements, or website performance, by guiding the set-up of tests and analysing the results, you will support the implementation of features on the site, optimise marketing performance, and improve the customer experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and passionate analyst with between 1 and 2 years experience, to have a significant influence in the development of the digital platform. The individual will help support the company culture of data-driven decision-making as the basis for how the business operates.

Duties include:-

  • Understanding the key drivers of site performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Working closely with marketing, product, user experience, and engineering to identify tests and changes.
  • Assisting the product information team in understanding how product data affects customers.
  • Preparing data pipelines to allow team members to easily access data for their own reporting
  • Acting in a consultancy capacity across all department
  • Maintaining and improve management information reports (KPIs)
  • Optimising data and, building algorithms to improve overall experience
  • Identifying areas of improvement, recommend and implement solutions that improve data reliability.

Experience

  • 1-2 years relevant experience.
  • Exceptional data analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good knowledge of data engineering.
  • Degree educated in a numeric subject such as Science, Maths, Engineering.
  • Good working knowledge of SQL
  • Experience within data analysis tools
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems.
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes
  • Working knowledge of Python (Anaconda/Pandas an advantage)
  • Building reports in a data visualisation tool (eg: Google DataStudio)
  • Good understanding of e-commerce and digital marketing.
  • Passion for data and digital, with an awareness of best practices, trends, and opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate complex problems in a clear and concise way.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems
  • Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources

Salary: £40,000 p.a.
